Globalization has not only resulted in the export of labor from rich to developing countries, but the export of technical competency and intellectual property. This has resulted in the reduction in price for consumer goods worldwide and it has also shifted the centers of innovation away from the West and towards the East. How, then, can countries promote innovation in order to remain competitive in a global age? How can countries best spur innovation to develop their national economies?
