Prof. Colin Blakemore, FMedSci, Hon FIBiol, Hon FRCP, FRS served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Research Council from 2003 to 2007. Prof. Blakemore served as the President of the British Neuroscience Association, the Physiological Society, the Biosciences Federation and the British Association for the Advancement of Science. He served as Deputy Chair of Medical Research Council. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at RedHill Biopharma Ltd. He has been a Member of Scientific and Strategic Advisory Group at ReNeuron Group Plc since June 28, 2012. He served as a Non-Executive Director of BTG plc from October 1, 2007 to July 13, 2010. He is a world renowned Scientist from Oxford University, UK. He has authored hundreds of research publications and books. He has received awards from many academic institutions worldwide for his scientific contribution, mainly in the area of neuroscience. In 2004 he won the Bio Industry Association Award for outstanding personal contribution to bioscience. He studied Medical Sciences at Cambridge and completed PhD at the University of California in Berkeley.
