Robert Beauregard is a Professor of Urban Planning in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Colunmbia University (New York City). He has written extensively on cities including his most recent book When America Became Suburban (Minnesota) and Voices of Decline: The Postwar Fate of U.S. Cities (Routledge).
Professor Beauregard has taught at The New School, University of Pittsburgh, and Rutgers University and been a visiting perofessor at UCLA, Helsinki Institute of Technology, University of Iowa and Kings College (London). He is currently writing on shrinking cities.
