Kevin Jenkins became President and Chief Executive Officer of World Vision International in October 2009. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organisation that has been working to overcome poverty and injustice for over 60 years. Today, World Vision raises over $2.6 billion annually and has more than 40,000 staff working in nearly 100 countries.
Mr. Jenkins’s goal at World Vision is to achieve meaningful, lasting change for the world’s most vulnerable children. He previously served the organisation as a sponsor, volunteer, fund-raiser and a Board member with World Vision Canada.
He has held a number of senior roles with Canadian Airlines, where he rose to be President and Chief Executive Officer. During more than a decade at Canadian Airlines, Mr. Jenkins worked alongside staff at every level of the company before overseeing a $1 billion financial restructuring that helped the company develop into an airline with 130 aircraft and 16,000 employees.
From Canadian Airlines, he went on to lead The Westaim Corporation, where he focused on turning technological innovations into marketable products, including medical devices, flat panel displays and aerospace coatings. During the six years prior to joining World Vision, Mr. Jenkins served as a managing director of TriWest Capital Partners, a private equity firm.
Mr. Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta and a Master in Business Administration at Harvard Business School. He is based at World Vision International's Global Centre Executive Office in Uxbridge, United Kingdom.
