Kathie Bolognese is a communications and public affairs strategist who holds the position of Director at Strategy XXI Partners, an advisory firm that serves private and public sectors clients worldwide. She is committed to social justice and focuses her efforts on the intersection of business and society in managing global sustainability issues.
Kathie advocates for and counsels business on adoption of a shared value approach to advance social progress. She has represented industry as a World Health Assembly delegate and as an accredited business NGO representative to the UN, where she has tackled issues of women’s and children’s health and nutrition, as well as food safety. Her work on international policy development builds from involvement with the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health and the UN Millennium Development Goals.
As a board member and strategic advisor to the U.S. National Committee for UN Women-NY Metro Chapter, she actively supports UN Women’s mission to reduce violence and to accelerate gender equality and women’s economic and political empowerment.
Kathie is also extensively involved in efforts to transform labor practices in China through development of an innovative ethical manufacturing program for the global children’s products industry known as the ICTI CARE Process. She additionally has a strong background in EU affairs, including contributions to two think tank working groups convened by the Centre for European Policy Studies: Health as an Issue in EU Enlargement and Future of the WTO and the New Millennium Round.
Prior to joining Strategy XXI Partners, she founded her own consultancy dedicated to business development for women business owners. Earlier in her career she was the Training Administrator for the American Woman's Economic Development Corp. where she provided counseling and training for women entrepreneurs.
