Bruce W. Ferguson is Vice Chairman of Louise Blouin Media properties, which include Art+Auction, Modern Painters, BlouinLIFESTYLE.com and BlouinARTINFO.com Daily; and online platforms BlouinARTINFO.com, BlouinNEWS.com.
Ferguson holds a background in art curation, criticism and academia with extensive management experience in both arts and academic organizations. Most recently he was the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at The American University in Cairo, Egypt. He has also served other leading institutions including Colulmbia University School of the Arts, New York, a graduate school where he was also Dean and he is the former President and Executive Director of New York Academy of Art, New York. Ferguson is also the founding Director and first curator of SITE Santa Fe, New Mexico.
A prolific writer, Ferguson has written for numerous art publications and is the co-editor of a seminal volume, Thinking About Exhibitions (Routledge: 1996) that was a central publication for developing curatorial schools worldwide. Most recently he was written the introduction to a Thames and Hudson book on the British artist Cornelia Parker and he co-curated the Palestinian Pavilion at the most recent Venice Biennale. He received his B.A. in Art History from the University of Saskatchewan, his M.A. in Communication from McGill University in Montreal, and holds an honorary doctorate from the Kansas City Art Institute.
