Phillip Polakoff, M.D, is a Senior Managing Director and Chief Medical Executive in the Health Solutions practice of FTI Consulting. Dr. Polakoff is involved with clients designing and implementing value based reimbursement initiatives, constructing clinical integration organizations, facilitating physician hospital alignment and structuring population health management programs. Dr. Polakoff’s career in healthcare spans thirty-five years and includes product development, network development, care management, organizational and business development, policy formulation, communications and financing. Most recently, Dr. Polakoff established Polakoff Boland: a healthcare management consulting firm focusing on ACO/Clinical Integration and clinical effectiveness. Previously, he was with ACS Healthcare and Buck Consultants, (formerly Mellon HR&IS).
Prior to working with FTI, Dr. Polakoff held several other positions including: Candidate for the 14th Assembly District of California; Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Principal/National Practice Leader Lifetime Health Solutions for a national consulting firm. As Chairman and Founder of Total Health Advocacy Partners, Dr. Polakoff actively engaged in designing and implementing health and productivity initiatives for Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and AT&T, among others. Dr. Polakoff was requested by CalPERS and the US Senate, to be involved in their strategic planning process, where he led a collaborative effort of experienced healthcare purchasers, consumers, providers and insurers in developing a national healthcare agenda. Dr. Polakoff has authored 6 books and over 185 articles and has written a weekly nationally syndicated health column.
