Mr. Lent is a Senior Managing Director with oversight for clean energy investments at WFM since joining the firm in 2010. He serves on the Investment Committee and the Valuation Committee of the Fund. He has a Board seat in the JV with GE Energy for wind development in Romania and Poland and is a Board Observer for OPX, an investment in biobased renewable chemicals. Mr. Lent has 18 years of private equity, venture capital and financial advisory experience with a focus on energy and natural resources. From 2003 to 2009 he was a co-founder and Managing Director of US Renewables Group, a $750M private equity firm focused on renewable energy and emerging energy technologies. In this capacity he lead or participated in fourteen investment in the clean energy arena spanning biomethane, geothermal, biomass, solar, first and second generation biofuels, and energy storage. From 2002 to 2003 he worked as an independent consultant advising private equity funds on the development of their cleantech portfolios. From 1994 to 2002 he co-founded and was a Managing Director of EA Capital, a financial advisory firm focused on cleantech commercialization and the development of new financial vehicles in renewables, carbon, and forestry. Clients included major energy firms, private equity funds, and The World Bank and IFC among others. Mr. Lent serves on the Investment Committee of the Sea Change Fund, which is focused on sustainable fisheries-linked investments.
